As a newborn photographer, it is always a joy to work with a family who has a special connection or interest that can play a role in their little one’s session.
Recently, I had the pleasure of working with a family who had a love for space and astronomy! They named their little boy Orion, after the constellation, and we incorporated space into their session.
The session was held at my studio located south of Calgary in a cozy and comfortable space for both baby and parents! During our planning consultation, we discussed the parent’s interests and decided to incorporate various space-themed props into the session. The parents were extremely excited about this idea, and we had a lot of fun picking out items to use!
When the parents arrived at the studio, I welcomed them with a warm smile and a cup of hot tea. As new parents, they were understandably nervous, but they were relieved to know that I would be taking care of everything. I supplied everything we needed, so the parents could relax and watch their little one’s photo shoot unfold.
Throughout the session, I carefully posed Orion in several different positions while incorporating the space props. We used a custom-made felted moon, miniature stars, and a starry backdrop to create some truly magical images.
One of my favorite images from the session was when Orion was wrapped up snuggly in a black swaddle with white stars all over it. He looked like he was floating in outer space, and the parents loved it.
Overall, the session was a huge success, and the parents were thrilled with how the images turned out. They loved their space-themed newborn photos and were grateful for the opportunity to incorporate their love for astronomy into their little one’s first photo shoot.
At my studio, I love to collaborate with families to create personalized sessions that are unique and meaningful to them. It is always a pleasure to help new parents capture this special time in their lives, and I am always humbled by the trust they have in me to create beautiful images that they will cherish forever.
